We dress up our dog for different reasons. Some dress up their dogs to impress people while others do so for health purposes. Whatever your reasons are in dressing up your dogs, make sure the type of clothing you choose makes your canine buddy look good while it serves its purpose at the same time.
In different parts of the world, some owners prefer dressing up their dogs with outfits that suit the kind of weather they have. There are countries with colder seasons which are not suitable for dogs. Dressing them up is a way of protecting them from the cold weather.
Polita during the cold season
Polita is a mongrel dog in the Southern part of Mexico who is owned by Verónica Chi. Her owner decided to dress her up in their ‘huipil’, a native dress of an indigenous ethnicity in Southern Mexico. Verónica dressed her pet this way to keep her warm during the cold weather.
The huipil for Polita came in different styles and colors. Every time Polita goes outside, Victoria will dress her up in their huipil to protect her beloved pet against the “ice cream” weather of their place. It is advisable to do the same thing for dogs who are in colder areas.
Polita’s place is in Southern Mexico where the weather is a bit cold, especially for dogs. The weather is the main reason why Polita’s country outfit gave her fashion. The outfit contributes to her protection at the same time. Who would have thought that a dog’s simple outfit could rock the internet like this?
Dogs on cold seasons
Like humans, animals such as dogs are susceptible to hypothermia and are therefore recommended that they stay inside a shelter during cold seasons. While there are longer-haired and thick-coated dog breeds, like huskies, that could withstand cold weather, no pet should still stay outside for long periods in below-freezing temperatures. Be sure to protect your dogs against cold weather.
